Roger Billins

After training at Herbert Smith, Roger qualified as a solicitor in 1979. He soon began to specialise in commercial litigation with particular emphasis on contractual disputes. He has been involved in high profile cases including the Multi Guarantee case in the 1980’s and, more recently the bitter dispute between James Middleweek and Collins Stewart.

He was an early proponent of mediation as a means of settling disputes and is the the author of two legal text books, including on the law of Agency. He is currently a consultant with Collyer Bristow, the non-executive director of gold bullion specialists, Baird & Co and trustee of a musical charity, Ambache.

He founded Unity because he could see that many clients were not getting the level of service from solicitors that they merited and, often, at very high cost.
