Unity Legal Solutions is not an entity regulated by The Solicitors Regulation Authority or the Bar Council. Unity does not itself act as a law firm and does not provide what are known as “reserved” legal services such as going on the court record as acting for clients in litigation, conveyancing and probate. Unity does have the benefit of a qualified solicitor and several barristers in its team but they are only authorised to provide legal or business advice or to mediate disputes. As Unity is not a regulated body, it does not carry compulsory professional indemnity insurance, does not hold client money nor do its clients have access to the Law Society Compensation Fund.
